Mitsubishi has shipped a new model in its ColorView line of DLP projectors, the XD350U. The new unit is a portable model, weighing in at 6.6 pounds, but offers high light output and contrast ration, along with XGA resolution.

The XD350U offers 2,500 ANSI lumens of brightness and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1 with a resolution of 1,024 x 768. Mitsubishi says the model is fully compatible with the new ProjectorView networking system, which connects its projectors via an external serial to Ethernet translator, connecting the projector to a local area network and controlled and monitored with a Web browser from a node in the LAN or through the Internet.

The new unit includes both horizontal and vertical keystone correction, six-axis color adjustments and dynamic gamma mode controls, as well as sRGB as a color preset. Other features include:

  • ColorView natural color matrix for image enhancement;
  • Picture in picture;
  • A 1,500-hour lamp life;
  • Universal learning remote;
  • Integrated Faroudja technology for smoothing images;
  • Connectors for RGB, two S-video, two composite video and two stereo minijacks.
