Mitsubishi Launches New Projectors

New models targeted toward home theater By Dave Nagel
Mitsubishi today announced two new models in its lineup of home theater projectors. The HC2 Home Cinema ColorView and XD50U Mini-Mits will both be available this month.

The XD50U Mini-Mits is a DLP-based projector offering 1,500 ANSI lumens of brightness and a 1,500:1 contrast ratio, along with a native resolution of 1,024 x 768. It's also an micro-portable device, weighing in at 3.4 pounds, and offers compatibility with HDTV signals. The XD50U will be available this month for $3,495.

The other new model, the HC2, supports 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios and offers a resolution of 800 x 600, a brightness of 1,100 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 600:1. It supports a variety of inputs and is also compatible with HDTV signals. It's available now for $1,999.
