Minolta Shows DiMage 7Hi Digital Camera5 megapixel SLR-style model coming this month
The DiMage 7Hi has been further enhanced with features like a built-in flash synchronization terminal, a 5 megapixel resolution and 7x optical zoom. (It also includes a 2x digital zoom.) The zoom range is 7.2 mm to 50.8 mm (equivalent to 28 mm to 200 mm in 35 mm). The camera also offers several features for image control, including sharpness, exposure, contrast, color and saturation. And it uses 12-bit A/D conversion and Minolta's image-processing technology called CxProcess, which is designed to produce better image fidelity.
The Minolta DiMage 7Hi features a three-point wide AF system, a Flex Focus Point for control over the focusing area and a direct manual focus. In the program and aperture-priority exposure modes, the shutter speed tops out at 1/4,000 second. The new high-speed continuous-advance drive mode allows successive images to be captured at approximately three frames per second in any mode. And the "Ultra High Speed" continuous-advance can capture seven frames per second. The camera can also record 16-bit audio with still and moving images.
The Minolta DiMage 7Hi will be available in September for $1,299. Minolta will also continue marketing the 7i. For more information, visit http://www.minoltausa.com.
