Minolta Intros Miniature 3.3 Megapixel Camera

DiMAGE Xi includes 3x optical zoom By Dave Nagel
Minolta has introduced its new DiMAGE Xi, a miniature digital camera featuring a 3.3 megapixel resolution. The new model builds on the DiMAGE X and offers a 3x optical and 4x digital zoom. It also offers new functions and features.

The camera's 3x optical zoom lens is equivalent to a 37 mm to 111 mm on a 35 mm camera. The lens "zooms" entirely within the camera's body and employs five aspheric elements. Minolta says the camera has the fastest start-up time of any digital camera with an optical zoom lens (1.2 seconds). The camera also includes user-selectable ISO settings, optional date imprinting, spot autofocus (AF), an improved anti-reflection LCD and automatic e-mail file copy creation.

The DiMAGE Xi includes a 16 MB SD card for image storage. The camera also accepts MultiMediaCards. Minolta had not set a ship date or price for the new model as of press time. For more information, visit
