Mike Douglas Joins Cut + Run/NY

Editor joins roster that includes Jon Grover & Founder Chuck Willis (March 29, 2005)

Cut + Run/NY is excited to announce the addition of editor Mike Douglas to its growing roster of talent. The new company, which just opened its SOHO office, features Editor/Founder Chuck Wills and Editor Jon Grover. Douglas is known for big comedy commercials including Snickers "Chefs" and Etrade "Monkey" and has garnered such awards as gold & silver Cannes Lions and Clios.

?Mike has an exceptional ability to cut comedy, says Cut + Run/NY Founder Chuck Willis. ?His talent for choosing performances is paramount, and I feel that I have teamed up with a true compatriot in comedy. He also happens to be one of the nicest and most collaborative people I have ever met in the biz. Hes a real professional and truly cares about the work and his clients. The relationship between Editor Douglas and Cut + Run/NY Founder Chuck
Willis stems back to Willis previous company Crew Cuts. Douglas worked at Crew Cuts as an assistant editor and sites Willis as being his initial inspiration for becoming an editor. "Chuck has a great sense of humor and a tenacious work ethic", says Douglas. ?Early on I could see how much he loves the editorial process, from his approach to each project to his rapport with clients. When he told me about Cut + Run/NY, I jumped at the opportunity to join him in this new venture."


Douglas became a full-fledged editor at Mackenzie Cutler in 1996. "Ian Mackenzie is a comedy master who also helped mold the way I approach commercial editing," says Douglas. After a successful tenure there, Douglas decided to go freelance, during which time he married, traveled the world, and edited national campaigns for MSN and FedEx. After 2 years of freelance, Douglas decided to join Jonathan Simon's startup Chickonkey, cutting Milk, Snickers, and Major League Baseball, notably. Douglas finished out 2004 freelancing at Mad River Post, editing comedy campaigns for Capital One, Bud Light and Arby's.
