Midiman Releases OS X Drivers for for Keystation Series

Controllers include built-in MIDI interface By Dave Nagel
Midiman/M-Audio has released Mac OS X drivers for its USB Keystation MIDI controller series. The company earlier announced OS X support for other products in its MIDI and audio interface lines, including the Delta audio and MIDISport MIDI interfaces. The Keystation controller series use Midiman's MIDISport interfaces internally and are designed for portability.

Midiman says the Keystation delivers low latency, but details were unavailable. Company President Tim Ryan said that the low-latency audio engine of Mac OS X "can change computer-based music production as we know it today."

Midiman's Keystation Controller keyboards currently include the Keystation 61, Keystation 49 and the new Oxygen 8, a 25-key portable keyboard with pitch and mod wheels and a fully programmable data slider and eight rotary knobs. All of the Keystation controllers use the MIDISport interface internally, so they can plug directly into the USB port on any Macintosh.
