Microspot Ships X-RIP 1.5 for Mac OS X

Microspot has announced an update to its X-RIP raster image processing software for CAD, photography, publishing and graphic design. Version 1.5 now offers support for Mac OS X 10.2.4 and also adds TCP/IP networking and other functional improvements. It's available now for Mac OS X only.

According to Microspot, X-RIP 1.5 now supports printing directly through USB and over a TCP/IP network. WIth this feature, a master computer prints to an attached printer, while other computers on the network print to it via that computer's Printer Sharing. The new version also includes support for custom paper sizes and improvements for printing to virtual printers.

Microspot X-RIP requires Mac OS X 10.2.4 and is available for $549. Additional hardware keys run $249. Updates for current users are available at a "nominal charge," according to Microspot. For more information, visit
