Metaobject Updates BookLightning and PdfCompressNew versions get bug fixes
PdfCompress is a tool designed to reduce the size of PDF files without reducing image quality. It compresses photographic images using JPEG compression and bi-level images using CCITT Group 4 and can also remove unnecessary fonts and metadata, as well as edit data. The new 4.3.1 version fixes a bug with the font removal preference.
BookLightning is an imposition utility for creating folded and stapled booklets from PDF files. It allows users to drag a PDF file over the application's icon, resulting in a new file (with "_book" added to the file name) with pages resized and reordered automatically. The new 1.1.1 version fixes a problem that occurred when arranging some PDF files. Version 1.0, which was also released this week, also added improved speeds and enhanced compatibility for Mac OS X 10.3.
BookLightning is available now for $49. PdfCompress is available for $27. Both support Mac OS X. For more information, visit http://www.metaobject.com.
