MetaCommunications Announces New Virtual Ticket and Job Manager

Publishing tools to get Mac OS X support in early 2004 By Dave Nagel
MetaCommunications has announced new versions of two of its publishing and prepress tools: Virtual Ticket 6.0 and Job Manager 4.0. The new versions will be the first to offer native support for Mac OS X, though the previous did run in Mac OS X via the Classic environment. They're expected to ship early in 2004.

Virtual Ticket is a production management tool that offers a centralized workflow for managing files and traffic and scheduling jobs. It also offers archiving features, digital asset management and notification for changes in production information. Job manager is a cross-platform job tracking, costing, estimating and billing tool designed specifically for graphic arts professionals. MetaCommunications says the new versions for Mac OS X have been in development for more than a year and include "dozens" of new features, though details were unavailable at press time.

Virtual Ticket 6.0 will be released in early 2004, with Job Manager 4.0 set for release shortly thereafter. For more information, visit
