Mediaware and Time Warner Cable Launches VOD Service

Launch of Time Warner Cable╣s Start Over service (November 21, 2005)
Mediaware, a leading global developer of digital video technology for the broadcast sector, announced today that its digital video editing and processing technology has been successfully implemented as part of the launch of Time Warner Cable╣s Start Over service, a video-on-demand offering.

Time Warner launched Start Over on November 1st on a limited basis to 10,000 customers in a South Carolina test market.  The company intends to roll out the service to 137,000 customers in South Carolina in the coming months, and will expand the service nationally next year.   The Start Over service enables digital cable customers to pause and rewind live TV, as well as allowing them to restart shows which are already in progress. Unlike other services, the │Start Over▓ service does not require the purchase of additional hardware or software.

We are pleased to be a part of such an important project with Time Warner. This service has the potential to re-shape how people watch TV, and our technology is a critical enabler of its successful deployment, Mediaware CEO Chris Newell commented. Video on Demand is an increasingly important market for us, and as Start Over rolls out nationwide, we expect to see significant revenue growth from this project, as well as other VOD efforts.   In addition to the partnership with Time Warner, Mediaware also supplies technology and systems to other customers with video-on-demand services, such as Tandberg Television, N2 Broadband, Gotuit Media, and IMake.
