MediaPOINTE Ensemble Video Content Management Server Now Available as a Hosted ServiceScalable, Web-Based Service Used by Universities and Businesses for Video on Demand (May 13, 2009)
NEWBURY PARK, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/13/09 -- Advanced Media Design, Inc., developer of the award-winning AV-over-IP collaboration technology MediaPOINTE®, today announced that its MediaPOINTE Ensemble Server is now available as a hosted service as well as a hardware appliance. With the flexibility, scalability and technology advances unlike any other available in the market today, MediaPOINTE Ensemble is an easy to use audio and video publishing and sharing system that facilitates video use across an organization.
"It's like a corporate YouTube -- everybody can share video across a company, across a university, across the world, and our MediaPOINTE Ensemble makes that easy to do," said Gareth Wade, vice president sales and marketing, Advanced Media Design. "Whether as an on-site integrated piece of hardware or as a hosted service, we facilitate content management in a centralized, simple way."
The new web-based MediaPOINTE Ensemble service is a monthly subscription that can accommodate an unlimited number of titles. Because the new MediaPOINTE Ensemble is now available as a hosted service, it is easily scalable; users simply upgrade the number of titles supported as needed. It is also a cost-effective way to sample the service prior to making a hardware purchase.
With MediaPOINTE Ensemble, organizations can enhance and extend the use of video to deliver training, promote knowledge sharing, build communities, and facilitate decision-making. It offers support for multiple media formats and servers, flexible video content publishing, sharing and syndication technology.
Hosted in MediaPOINTE's fully redundant co-location facility, MediaPOINTE Ensemble holds thousands of hours of rich media content and recorded video; users can search on keywords and access files over a LAN, WAN or Intranet.
When connected to MediaPOINTE's Digital Media Recorders (DMRs), recorded video can be automatically uploaded to the Hosted server for publishing. MediaPOINTE's Ensemble can even automatically post new videos to a website without any user intervention.
MediaPOINTE Ensemble's intuitive web interface also makes it easy for systems administrators to upload video and audio files in multiple format types including those in Windows® Media, Real Media, QuickTime®, Flash, MPEG4, and many others. MediaPOINTE Ensemble also integrates with the TANDBERG Content Server(TM) so videoconferences can easily be published to the Web.
MediaPOINTE Ensemble can be used in a myriad of ways across campus and across a corporation: salespeople can watch new product videos on demand; students can watch lectures by specific professors; and new employees can watch safety or training videos or videoconferences on their PCs, in a lecture hall or library, or on their iPODs®.
