The Slamdance community is heavily represented by independent filmmakers who have evolved their craft through digital technologies that now enable distribution to online destinations and mobile devices.
"We provide services and technical integration for a wide range of filmmakers, yet the Slamdance audience epitomizes the tremendous growth in the digital storytelling community, and we want to provide as clear a resource for them in understanding the technical aspects and requirements of each format and which tools will deliver the most desired results," said Richard Myerson, president of Media Distributors.
Topics that will be discussed during the sessions include: formats (DV, Long GOP, HDV, XDCam, DVCProHD, P2, RED, HDCam, HDCamSR, D5, Super16mm vs. 35mm, Tapeless); frame rates (24p, 23.98, 23.976), and storage (RAID, DAM, FireWire).
