Media 100 i Gets Update to 8.0.2

New version requires OS X 10.2.1 By Dave Nagel
Media 100 has released an update to Media 100 i, its Macintosh-based non-linear editing system. The new version, 8.0.2, fixes a number of bugs found in 8.0.1 and 8.0. It's available now as a free update for Mac OS X 10.2.1 only.

According to Media 10, the 8.0.2 update fixes a problem that occured when rendering to the Media 100 codec in Adobe After Effects and also fixes a problem that involved editing titles in Graffiti. Other fixes include:

  • Using a Japanese font did not allow you to quit Media 100 i once the Input Method Editor window launched.
  • The application could unexpectedly quit during startup.
  • Audio effects in the Bus track were ignored when mastering to tape.
  • If the second part of a split clip in the graphics track was longer than the first part, the second half would show up as a negative duration in the Edit Suite.

The 8.0.2 update requires Mac OS X 10.2.1 and QuickTime 6, as well as a version 8 system key. For more information or to download the update, visit
