Media 100 Qualifies JEMS Fire Vault RAID(September 21, 2001)
JEMS Fire Vault solution, powered by a combination of IBM disk drives and JEMS multiple bridge technology with the Oxford 911 chip set, was tested on a G4 running Media 100 XR.
The Fire Vault with multiple drives striped across one channel produced sustained transfer rates high enough to qualify for XR at 300 KB/frame, Media 100s highest resolution without the
lossless option. The testing took place in Media 100's peripherals lab at their facility in Marlboro, MA.
JEMS plans to announce qualification for the Matrox RT Mac and Aurora Igniter with Final Cut Pro in the next few days.
