Medea Cuts RAID Prices

VideoRaid drops up to $1,500 By Dave Nagel
Medea today announced some significant price reductions on its VideoRaid RTR and RTRX lines of RAID arrays. The reduced prices vary from $200 to $1,500 and affect models ranging in capacity from 320 GB to 960 GB.

The VideoRaid RTR is a redundant Ultra160 SCSI array with sustained data transfer rates of up to 130 MB per second and capacities of up
to 480 GB. The price reductions for the VideoRaid RTR are:

  • VideoRaid 5/320 RTR $4,699 (was $5,199)
  • VideoRaid 5/480 RTR $5,899 (was $6,099)

The VideoRaid RTRX is the rack mountable version of the VideoRaid RTR, which sustains more than 200 MB per second and stores up to 960 GB. The price cuts for the five-drive and the 10-drive VideoRaid RTRX are:

  • VideoRaid 5/320 RTRX $5,199 (was $5,799)
  • VideoRaid 5/480 RTRX $6,499 (was $6,699)
  • VideoRaid 10/320 RTRX $7,499 (was $7,699)
  • VideoRaid 10/640 RTRX $8,899 (was $10,399)
  • VideoRaid 10/960 RTRX $11,599 (was $12,199)
