Maxon Releases Cinema 4D Integration Tool for After EffectsPlugin allows After Effects to import Cinema 4D compositions
The new Cinema4DAE software is a plugin for Adobe After Effects 5.0 and 5.5 that enables After Effects to import compositions produced in Cinema 4D. These exported compositions retain data such as layers, lighting, frame rate, resolution, etc. The plugin also allows for the import of BodyPaint 3D files (B3D), though layers are flattened on import.
Cinema 4D R8.1 itself produces the compositions for After Effects using an After Effects export option. It renders out multipass QuickTime files, along with a reference file, that After Effects can read as a complete composition, using the new plugin, providing access to individual layers in the scene, including nested compositions for separated lights. Since After Effects 5.5 also supports 3D data, the exporter also allows users to export 3D lights and cameras from Cinema 4D and bring them into After Effects with parameters--such as focal length, position, rotation, intensity, color and shadow--preserved from the Cinema 4D composition.
The new Cinema4DAE plugin is available as a free download from Maxon's Web site. It's available for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows and includes documentation, examples and two separate plugins for After Effects 5.0 and After Effects 5.5. For more information, visit http://www.maxoncomputer.com.
