Maxon Cinema 4D To Go ModularRelease 8 coming in the fall
According to Maxon, release 8 gains improvements across the board over version 7, including modeling, animation, rendering and workflow. It will also see the introduction of a new, optional module called MOCCA, a character animation tool with soft IK functionality (for creating droopy skin and the like).
Other new features will include:
- Thinking Particles, the new event-based particle system;
- Expressions for precise control over all moving objects without math or programming;
- A streamlined UI with speedier response and enhanced OpenGL support;
- New rendering options for improved output with speed gains up to 30 percent.
The base price for Cinema 4D R8 will be $595. A version called the XL Bundle, which includes the Advanced Renderer, Thinking Particles, PyroCluster, MOCCA and a three-client Net Render license, will sell for $1,695 ($495 upgrade). The Studio Bundle, which also includes Dynamics, BodyPaint 3D and an unlimited client license for et Render, will run $2,595 ($1,495 upgrade). Individual modules will also be available for purchase separately. Those who purchase Cinema 4D XL 7 between now and the release date will receive the corresponding edition of R8 at no additional cost. Maxon's software runs on Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows, though specific platform support for R8 has not been announced. For more information, visit http://www.maxoncomputer.com.
