Matthew Langie of Omniture Elected to Board of Web Analytics AssociationWill Leverage Experience With Leading Customers to Drive Successful Adoption of Video, Mobile, Social Media and Other Emerging Customer Channels Into Analytics Community (May 19, 2009)
OREM, UT -- (Marketwire) -- 05/19/09 -- Omniture, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMTR), a leading provider of online business optimization software, today announced the election of Matthew Langie, Senior Director of Product Marketing, to the Web Analytics Association (WAA) Board of Directors. Members of the newly elected board will serve for a two-year period beginning in May.
Mr. Langie anticipates accomplishing three key goals:
- Educating members to keep them current in the areas of emerging online analytics including mobile, video, social media, widgets and apps
- Increasing the visibility of the WAA with senior marketing executives as a critical underpinning of online marketing
- The continued development and refinement of analytics metrics standards that will further accelerate adoption in the market and improve career opportunities for analytics professionals worldwide

Mr. Langie is passionate about the expansion of Web analytics to online analytics and recently developed a new industry event called MindMeld working with Jim Sterne, WAA Chairman, and John Lovett, a senior analyst at Forrester Research. The objective of MindMeld is to bring together the leaders in online analytics and start shaping the debate on issues that are important to the continued growth of the analytics industry. In addition, Mr. Langie has shared his expertise as a speaker at numerous industry conferences and events.

He also brought to market the App Measurement for iPhone solution, which enables online marketers to utilize Omniture mobile solutions for powerful measurement, analysis and reporting capabilities on usage of native iPhone applications.
Prior to Omniture, he held management roles at Hewlett-Packard and business development efforts for the software technology research lab at Intel. He also led the marketing efforts for best-selling author Michael Crichton. He holds a BBA in marketing from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was recognized with the Texas Business Hall of Fame foundation award and scholarship. He is a former Air Force officer, separating at the rank of Captain.
