MatchMover Pro Coming to Mac OS X This Fall

Motion tracking software adds 3D model object-based tracking By Dave Nagel
RealViz announced today that it will launch a Mac OS X version of MatchMover Professional. The Mac version will follow shortly after the Windows and Linux releases of version 3.0, scheduled for this summer. The company will demonstrate the new version at NAB 2003 in Las Vegas in April.

MatchMover Professional is a tool for tracking 3D camera data and motion from videos and film sequences. The software is used in a variety of feature films for tracking and mixing footage and CG elements, including 20th Century Fox's upcoming Daredevil.

According to RealViz, the new version of MatchMover gains significantly in the areas of speed and workflow. It also adds improved handling of motion control data; 3D object model-based tracking; 3D tracking of cameras and multiple objects in the same session; improved handling of survey points; and a new graph editor toolbox.

RealViz has not announced any price changes for the 3.0 version of MatchMover. The current release sells for $4,999. Upgrades from version 2.5 to version 3.0 will run $3,500. For more information, visit
