Markzware releases MarkzTools 5

XTension helps prevent QuarkXPress document corruption By Dave Nagel
Markzware has released MarkzTools 5. MarkzTools is an XTension for QuarkXPress designed to prevent document corruption. The new version is available for Macintosh.

MarkzTools 5 is specifically designed to eliminate "bad file format [70], [39], and [108]" errors. It allows users to save temporary versions of documents (rather than overwriting the original, if desired) and also verifies the integrity of saved files. It also offers a "scavenge text" feature for documents that are beyond repair, allowing for the extraction of any text that might be contained in these documents. In addition, it allows lower versions of QuarkXPress to save to higher versions and provides an alert when saving a lower version to a higher version. It can also convert color previews to grayscale to save hard drive space.

The new version of MarkzTools is available now for QuarkXPress 4.1 to 5.x. It supports Mac OS 8.6 through 9. Upgrades are available for $99. The full version runs $199. For more information, visit
