Management Company Q Prime South Celebrates Two Number One Tracks at Two Radio Formats for the Second Time This Year

The Black Keys Top the Modern Rock Chart With "Gold On The Ceiling" and Eric Church Lands at Number One on the Country Chart With "Springsteen" (June 12, 2012)

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/12/12 -- Q Prime South, led by manager John Peets, has achieved the rare feat of having two projects simultaneously top the charts at two radio formats this week for the second time this year. Eric Church's "Springsteen" is currently the number one country song on the Billboard/BDS and Mediabase country charts, and The Black Keys' "Gold On The Ceiling" is the number one song on the Billboard/BDS and Mediabase alternative charts. The same week in January 2012 "Lonely Boy" by The Black Keys was number one on the Billboard/BDS and Mediabase alternative charts and Church's "Drink In My Hand" topped the Billboard/BDS and Mediabase country charts.

"At Q Prime, we build career artists who make great albums and have a distinct point of view," said Peets. "It is extremely gratifying to watch artists with such integrity enjoy mainstream success after many years of hard work."

The Black Keys -- Akron, Ohio, natives Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney -- released their debut album, The Big Come Up, in 2002, followed by Thickfreakness (2003) and Rubber Factory (2004). In 2006 they signed to Nonesuch Records in the US and released their fourth album, Magic Potion, which was followed by Attack & Release in 2008. In May 2010 they released their breakthrough album, Brothers, to widespread critical acclaim. Debuting at #3 in the US, it went on to win four GRAMMYs and an MTV Video Music Award, and topped numerous year-end lists, including iTunes, NPR, and Rolling Stone. It included the certified gold hit singles "Tighten Up" and "Howlin' for You." The album Brothers has been certified Platinum in the US and Canada and Gold in the UK. El Camino was released in December 2011 and skyrocketed to #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart selling over 206,000 units its week of release marking the highest debut for The Black Keys. It was one of the most heralded albums of 2011 and in six months has sold nearly 1.5 million albums worldwide. The band is currently on the road selling out arenas around the world.

Eric Church began his professional singing career in 2006 after being signed to Capitol Records. Later that year, he released Sinners Like Me, his debut album produced by Jay Joyce. The successful album contained three Top 20 singles: "Guys Like Me," "Two Pink Lines" and "How 'Bout You." In 2009, Church released Carolina, and its first single, "Love Your Love the Most," brought him to the top 10 for the first time. The album's second single, "Hell on the Heart," would also hit the top 10 in May 2010. The third single from Carolina was "Smoke A Little Smoke." It is Church's current album, Chief, which was released in 2011, that really commanded attention. It shot straight to #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and Top Country Chart -- selling upwards of 145,000 units in its first week. This is the first time in over 40 years that any country artist had topped the Billboard Top 200 chart without previously having a top 5 single. It earned Church an Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Solo Vocalist in 2011, a 2012 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album of the Year, and multiple CMA and ACM award nominations. This week marks his second number one song on the Country Radio charts with "Springsteen," sales of which have now surpassed platinum. Church is currently on the road selling out arenas around the United States, and all three of his albums have been certified Gold by the RIAA.
