Make History Like Mad Men with Memoir Tree, the New Free iPhone App

  (April 02, 2012)

San Francisco, California (PRWEB) April 02, 2012

"We created Memoir Tree's free oral history app for iPhone so that anyone who remembers the 1960s can capture and share those stories, without having to write a word, spend a dollar or interrupt the flow of happy hour conversation," said Jed Lau, founder of Memoir Tree, Inc.

Over classic vodka martinis (hold the olive, imagine the vermouth), Gibbons and Pritikin share recollections of take-charge '60s office managers like Joan Holloway, the ultra-mod 1966 campaign that launched the Camaro muscle car, the psychedelic poster that cost them a client and the agency party that got out of control. These real-life Mad Men stories are live at, and their historically accurate predictions for Mad Men Season 5 are published at The Five (, the digital salon for contemporary creatives.

"The last season of Mad Men ended in 1965 with the publication of Roger Sterling's memoir, captured with a Dictaphone," said Lau. "But today, real people are capturing and sharing their stories not with clunky, complicated equipment, but with Memoir Tree's streamlined smartphone app."

Memoir Tree's free iPhone app lets users take photographs as they're recording audio, and auto-uploads audio and photos. The app comes with one hour's worth of free audio and photo storage on a dedicated, password-protected user page on Memoir Tree's website. Subscriptions provide additional storage and features, and professional event packages allow everyone to capture red-carpet interviews and audience commentary like journalists.

Registered users of Memoir Tree can share their stories with select email contacts or the world through Memoir Tree's website. "Memoir Tree users own their own stories, so if they want to sell those stories as books or television series, they can," says Lau. "Now anyone can make history, not just Mad Men."
