Magnet Media Presents Final Cut Pro 3 Training Seminar at J&R Computer World

Magnet Media, Inc., is offering monthly Final Cut Pro 3.0 training seminar at J&R Computer World in New York City. The free seminars, lead by Magnet Media's David Marcus, are loosely-based on the Digital Media Training Series (DMTS) title Inside Editing with Final Cut Pro 2 (with FCP3 Ramp-up Guide), which Marcus produced.

The program features FCP instructor and commercial editor Zak Tucker, who was recently featured on Aimed at first-time users of Apple's digital editing software, the seminar will cover the essential equipment necessary to work with FCP, setting up system preferences, logging and digitizing, and basic nonlinear editing techniques. Marcus will also be leading a discussion and demonstrating some of the features found in the newly-released FCP 3.

David Marcus is Content Director for Magnet Media's Digital Media Training Series. Some of the titles he has produced include Inside Editing with Final Cut Pro, InsideDreamweaver 4, Projects in Flash 5, Understanding Final Cut Pro and Video Compression with Cleaner 5. He is also the author of the "Final Cut Pro Workstation Setup Guide ".

All participants in the FCP seminar will receive a free Special Edition copy of Inside Editing with Final Cut Pro 2, as well as the "Final Cut Pro Workstation Setup Guide" and "Final Cut Pro 3 Ramp-Up Guide", both authored by Marcus.

Inside Editing with Final Cut Pro 2 is a 3-hour, 10-lesson interactive CD-ROM taught by Zak Tucker, founder of Swete Studios, a commercial post-production company based in New York City. Among the points highlighted by Tucker in the training program are: setting up the Final Cut Pro workspace; logging and capturing; basic editing techniques; media management and organization; motion effects; and advanced compositing. The training includes 3 CD-ROMs: the first 2 discs house the training and the third disc contains the project files needed to work along with the instructor.
