Macromedia Updates Fireworks MX 2004New version fixes bugs, adds Photoshop interoperability enhancements
Fireworks is Macromedia's image editing, vector painting and Web graphics creation software. The new version adds compatibility with Photoshop CS and ImageReady CS files and improves interoperability with Macromedia Dreamweaver, including fixes for third-party extensions and problems in double-byte environments. It also fixes issues that would cause Fireworks to freeze or hang, including altering slice width and importing Freehand files. Other fixes have been introduced in the following areas: Unsharp Mask previews, default locations with the Save As command, launch and edit from Macromedia Flash when using double-byte characters and nested tables.
The Fireworks MX 2004 7.0.1 update is available now as a free update for current users on Macintosh and Windows systems. (Note that in the Mac OS X version, the update does not change the version number or modified date on the application's Finder info but does correctly report the version number in the application's splash screen.)
