Macromedia Studio MX Sees 250,000 Adopters

In a rare move, Macromedia today announced figures for the adoption rate of Studio MX. Studio MX is Macromedia's flagship suite for the development of Web and interactive content. According to the company, more than 250,000 users have adopted the suite since its introduction in June.

Macromedia says that the number of adopters since the product's introduction makes it the company's most successful offering to date. Studio MX is a suite of creative and development tools that includes Flash MX, Fireworks MX, Dreamweaver MX, Freehand 10 and ColdFusion MX Developer Edition. Flash, of course, is an application for developing interactive and animated graphics for the Web. Fireworks is an image editing application tailored mainly for the Web, but also for print. Dreamweaver MX is an HTML layout program. Freehand is a vector graphics program. And ColdFusion is an application server for delivering data-driven content on the Web. All are integrated to one degree or another in Studio MX, including the ability to drive content in Flash using ColdFusion.


Macromedia also says that the introductory price for Studio MX will end Dec. 31. The current price is $799. beginning next year, it will be raised to $899. Upgrade prices will also be raised beginning next year. For more information, visit http://www.macromedia.com.
