Macromedia Sitespring Available Now

Plugin allows Dreamweaver users to view tasks (August 15, 2001)
Macromedia has started shipping Sitespring, a new Web-based application for managing the Web site production process. Sitespring offers a server-based solution for collaboration, file management and client communications. The release also includes a plugin for Dreamweaver that allows users to see their project tasks.

The new Sitespring Tasks Panel Extension for Dreamweaver and Dreamweaver UltraDev enables users to view all of their Sitespring tasks. Users will be able to select a task in Dreamweaver and go directly to Sitespring to change its details or status. The extension is available free at the Macromedia Exchange (http://exchange.macromedia.com).


Macromedia has also created an online resource site detailing best practice techniques for delivering better user experiences at http://www.macromedia.com/resources/techniques.

A trial version of Sitespring with support for 10 users is available online at http://www.macromedia.com/software/sitespring/trial. Macromedia Sitespring is now available for Windows 2000 Server and Windows NT 4.0 Server. Team members and clients can use Macintosh or Windows systems. Pricing starts at $1,999 for the Sitespring Server plus three user licenses. Licenses are required for each individual named user account. Client accounts are free.
