Macromedia Releases Breeze LiveOnline meeting software supports live desktop sharing, video broadcasts
As a presentation system, Breeze combines slideshow functionality through applications like Microsoft PowerPoint with live content, such as video and shared desktops. (A meeting host, for example, can allow meeting participants to view everything on his or her computer screen or portions of the screen during a meeting.) PowerPoint presentations can be preloaded, and other content, such as spreadsheets, can be shared on the fly. The software also supports video, audio, chat and pointer features. Other features include:
- Meeting management to control who participates in a presentation;
- The ability to join a meeting by clicking a single Web link without additional downloads for those who have the Flash player installed;
- Pre-defined meeting layouts;
- Support for multiple presenters with private chat functions;
- Report generation;
- The ability to record, archive and reuse live sessions.
Breeze Live is available as a standalone product or as an add-on module for the Macromedia Breeze platform. It can be purchased in two forms: a Hosted version and an Enterprise version. The server runs on Windows XP or 2000. The Breeze client supports Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows in a variety of Web browsers. Complete system requirements and licensing options are available on Macromedia's Web site. For more information, visit http://www.macromedia.com.
