MacroSolve Files Patent Infringement Suits Against AOL and Bank of America

Suit Claims AOL's Moviefone and Bank of America's Mobile Banking App Infringing (April 24, 2012)

TULSA, OK -- (Marketwire) -- 04/24/12 -- MacroSolve, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: MCVE) (OTCQB: MCVE) ("MacroSolve" or the "Company"), a leading provider of mobile technologies, apps and solutions for business, today announced its latest patent infringement suits filed against AOL, Inc. (NYSE: AOL), and Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: BAC). MacroSolve's suit claims that both companies infringed upon its U.S. Patent No. 7,822,816.

"We continue to successfully settle suits," said MacroSolve Vice Chairman, Jim McGill. "Both AOL and Bank of America have been utilizing mobile apps as an integral part of their businesses. These apps, including AOL's Moviefone and Bank of America's banking apps, appear to be infringing upon our intellectual property rights. We believe that swift and forceful legal action is the best way to slow the sprawl of corporate copycat apps like these and protect the rights of individual and small-group innovators. We look forward to productive licensing discussions or settlements with both of these companies."

On October 26, 2010, the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent No. 7,822,816 to MacroSolve. The patent, a significant intellectual property asset to MacroSolve, further advances its position as a leader in the mobile solutions market. The patent addresses mobile information collection systems across all wireless networks, smartphones, tablets, and rugged mobile devices, regardless of carrier and manufacturer, and is currently utilized in MacroSolve's rapid mobile app development platforms. MacroSolve's patent covers fundamental technology in the mobile application space utilized by multiple companies.
