MachineWorks Drives Okumas Collision Avoidance SystemOkuma: the latest user of MachineWorks technology (June 10, 2005)
MachineWorks Ltd, supplier of the world's leading simulation and verification toolkit for software and machine tool OEMs announced today the use of MachineWorks simulation and verification technology within Okumas Collision Avoidance System.
Okumas Collision Avoidance System is integrated in the OSP-P200 controller fitted to the new Multus multi-tasking machines. The system detects potential collisions by comparing 3D models of the machine components, tools, fixtures and workpiece stored in the OSP-P200 controller.
?Okuma has displayed an innovative approach to interactive simulation where the simulation software becomes part of the intelligent numerical control, comments David Manley, Managing Director of MachineWorks.
MachineWorks can provide full machine simulation with material removal and collision detection for any type of machining including multi-tasking machines.
