Mac Design Conference & Expo Starts With A BangAdobe keynote, Crabby Awards and Kodak Digital Gem featured. (June 03, 2004)
The first day of the Mac Design Conference, one the largest educational events for designers, photographers and videographers, starts off with a bang. Beginning with Adobe Senior Vice President, Jim Heegers keynote address, to recognizing Crabby Award recipients, to Eastman Kodak introducing its latest plug-in product for photographers at the Tech Expo.
Great Design in the Future
Jim Heeger, with Adobes Creative Professional Products, energizes the crowd at the opening ceremony by challenging attendees to define great design and demonstrating the Adobe Creative Suite live. ?Jim Heeger presents some very insightful ideas about what future great design will be and what creative tools will get us there, says Scott Kelby, editor-in-chief of Mac Design Magazine and conference host (www.macdesignonline.com).
Four recipients receive the 2004 Mac Design Crabby Awards in five categories. The recipients are Michael Bast for Best of Show and Illustration; David Cuerdon for Photography, Todd Adkins for Print, and Brian Frank for Web Design. Besides the supportive applause from the crowd, each recipient received an 8.5 x 11 acrylic award engraved with their name. ?For many of us, recognition rarely occurs for our work. So we created the Crabby Awards, inspired by beloved Macintosh author Don Crabb, to provide a venue where creative work can be showcased and acknowledged by peers, said Scott Kelby, Crabby Award presenter and conference host.
Kodak Introduces New Plug-in
Mac Design Conference is proud that Eastman Kodak selected the conference as the first event to introduce its new DIGITAL GEM Airbrush Professional Plug-In product, today. DIGITIAL GEM gives users a quick and powerful way of smoothing skin and other surfaces without blurring or affecting details. Kodaks latest plug-in enables users to automatically achieve meticulous airbrush and retouching effects without tedious, time-consuming masking and manual softening.
