MUTEC Announces Availability of iCLOCK and iCLOCKdp

Redundant multiple clock synthesizer and video reference generator (October 25, 2004)

MUTEC from Germany, manufacturer of professional digital audio equipment, announces the availability of iCLOCK and iCLOCKdp, Redundant Multiple Clock Synthesizer and Video Reference Generator.

iCLOCK is a synchronizable, high-precision clock generator which is designed to be the reference in digital audio and video studios as well as broadcast stations. Based on a totally new concept of frequency generation, developed by MUTEC, the unit offers an unchallenged flexibility for synchronization of different devices to one or more house clocks.

Basically, iCLOCK works as a stand-alone generator for NTSC- and PAL composite video sync and various digital audio clock signals, based on a highly-accurate internal video reference. Furthermore up to 3 independent external references can be auto-detected and locked in a user-defined succession whereas interruption-free output signals are guaranteed. Regarding its extremely flexible signal controlling and the capability to setup different signal parameters additionally, iCLOCK can be precisely adapted to any studio configuration.

Due to unique features like redundant operation, drastic jitter reduction, DSD + DXD clock support, independent scalability of all outputs, support of 36 Word Clock rates, digital varispeed of 20%, hard- and software upgradability or the high-accurate time base with <0.1ppm - iCLOCK is going to define a new standard of digital A/V synchronizing.

Applications:
- A/V synchronization
- Jitter attenuation in clock signals
- Centralized and redundant A/V clock distribution
- Conversion between NTSC, PAL, Word Clock, DSD, DXD, AES/EBU, AES/EBUid, S/PDIF, GPS, DCF77 and optional formats
- Film, video and audio transfers
- Synchronization of film projectors, pilot tone resolvers and timecode generators
- Coupling of NTSC and PAL multi-format systems

MUTEC is exhibiting during the 23id Deutsche Tonmeistertagung (www.tonmeister.de) in Leipzig/Germany starting from November 5th - 8th, 2004, at booth no. A1-016 in hall 2.
