MOTU Updates Digital Performer and Audio Interface DriversLatest versions gain Mac OS X 10.3 support
As part of the update, MOTU has updated the drivers for all of its FireWire- and PCI-based audio interfaces for Panther compatibility. The updates also offer new features, including input and output names, default stereo input/output and control surface support for CueMix DSP. The FireWire drivers are now at version 1.07, and the PCI drivers are at 1.03. They support all of MOTU's interfaces, including the original 828 and 896. MOTU has also updated its USB audio interface drivers, though the update is not required for use with Panther. MOTU says the update significantly improves the performance of the FastLane-USB two-input/two-output MIDI interface running under Mac OS X 10.2 or later.
Also in this round of updates, MOTU has released Digital Performer 4.11, which offers full Mac OS X 10.3 support, as well as a new utility for configuring synthesizer expansion card patch names. It also allows Pro Tools users to view TDM plugin presets in categorized submenus.
All of the updates are available now free of charge for MOTU users. For more information, visit http://www.motu.com.
