MOTU Ships New MIDI InterfacesBus-powered units support Mac and Windows
The USB-based MIDI Express 128 is rack-mountable and uses some of the same technology found in MOTU's MIDI Timepiece. It offers eight MIDI in and nine MIDI out ports, with support for 128 MIDI channels and is compatible with all Macintosh and Windows software, according to MOTU. The MIDI Express 128 includes drivers for Mac OS9, Mac OS X and Windows. It sells for $249.
The Micro Lite is a more compact version of the MIDI Express 128, offering portability in a half-rack configuration (with removable rack attachments for desktop operation). It also includes a custom joint fastener for for mounting two units side by side in a single 19-inch rack. The Micro Lite offers five MIDI in and five MIDI out ports, with support for 80 MIDI channels. Like the MIDI Express 128, the Micro Lite is USB-powered and supports Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows. It sells for $149.
