MOTU Releases OSX Public Beta Downloads for Clockworks and USB Devices

MOTU has released public beta downloads for using its Clockworks Console and USB MIDI devices with Macintosh OSX. The company is seeking user feedback before final versions of the software are released.

The ClockWorks Console Public Beta is an application that enables the use of MOTU USB interfaces, including the micro express, Express XT and MIDI Timepiece AV, with OSX. The console requires OSX version 10.1 (or higher). but 10.1.3 or higher is recommended.

ClockWorks gives users access to the many programmable features in their MOTU rack-mount MIDI interface. For example, MIDI Timepiece AV users can choose SMPTE frame rates, route and process MIDI data, choose 0.1% pull-up or pull-down sample rates for synchronizing audio to video, and edit and save presets.

Clockworks requires installed USB OSX MIDI drivers (see below).

The USB MIDI OSX Public Beta Drivers include beta (pre-release) USB MIDI drivers for for use with MOTU USB interfaces, including the USB Fastlane, micro express, Express XT and MIDI Timepiece AV.

These drivers require OSX version 10.1 (or higher).
