MGM Pictures Standardizes on MESoft for Dailies(April 20, 2005)
MGM Pictures uses technology from MESoft, Inc., to deliver high quality dailies to MGM executives and professionals involved in the creation of MGM feature films.
"Dailies" are unedited footage of a previous day's shooting. MGM Pictures believes that to make the best movies, the creative team needs to see dailies as soon as possible, at the highest image resolution possible.
With MESoft technology, MGM dailies are sent electronically from the film lab to MGM screening rooms, executive offices, editing suites, and the production set for viewing on computers, TV sets, editing tools, and high-definition projectors. Over the past year, this has included dailies for such MGM releases as "Be Cool," "The Pink Panther," "Beauty Shop," "In To The Blue," and "The Amityville Horror."
Bruce Markoe, Executive Vice-President, Feature Post-Production, for MGM Pictures, stated, "MESoft had what we were looking for -- the ability to deliver high-definition dailies anywhere, simple user interfaces including a 'TV remote', and a platform to support future workflow and distribution enhancements. They are the technology leaders."
MESoft CEO Mark Kapczynski said, "MGM Pictures has long been a leader in using digital technologies to make better feature films. It is an honor to win their trust and their business."
