MEIs Integrated Production Suite Demos at NEXPO 2005IPS already live in production at Belgium?s Passe-Partout (March 15, 2005)
Managing Editor Inc. (MEI), a Philadelphia-based provider of software solutions for the publishing industry, today announced that the first public demonstration of MEIs new Integrated Production Suite (IPS) will take place at NEXPO 2005 in Dallas, March 19 22. IPS is an integrated suite of products, featuring MEIs QuickSilver-based production hub integrated with new versions of MEIs Ad Layout System (ALS), Classified Layout System (CLS), Roundhouse Ad Tracking System, and QuickLink with Adobe InDesign for editorial and ad-building.
At the heart of IPS is QuickSilver, the high-powered database hub through which user-selected MEI tools can connect and share data. Ad-order entry systems feed ad and job data into the QuickSilver database, where it is aggregated and distributed to the selected planning, makeup and pagination products. When connected to the QuickSilver hub, these products change from standalone tools to collaborative workhorses. Real-time communication and updating between components of IPS provide parallel workflows and interaction for todays sophisticated production groups.
IPS is live in production today at Passe-Partout, one of the largest newspaper publishers in Belgium. For Passe-Partout, which publishes over 100 editions of its popular shoppers and newspapers at five production sites throughout Belgium, IPS provides high-availability, end-to-end ad and editorial management in a fault-tolerant, multi-lingual, distributed production environment. MEIs reliable ad layout and ad tracking systems carry out everyday work in a smart, efficient workflow.
MEI representatives will be on hand at NEXPO to share the Passe-Partout success story with attendees and to demonstrate how the Integrated Production Suite can inform high-level business decisions that bring positive results?improved efficiency, unparalleled security and control, cost-savings and increased revenue?from one all-star suite of products.
