MASTERSFX Creates SFX For “Stargate Atlantis”New Sci-Fi Channel series premiers on July 16th (July 08, 2004)
MASTERSFX, one of the entertainment industry’s leading special effects companies specializing in prosthetic, animatronic, and makeup effects for major motion pictures, TV series and specials, and television commercials, has announced its special effects work for “Stargate Atlantis,” which premieres July 16th on the Sci-Fi Channel. The announcement was made today by Emmy Award winning special effects artist Todd Masters, founder, MASTERSFX.
About “Stargate Atlantis”:
For the new syndicated TV series “Stargate Atlantis,” slated to premiere on July 16th on the Sci Fi Channel, MASTERSFX is involved in conceptual and production design work, as well as prosthetic characters and makeup effects. MASTERSFX’s client is Pegasus Productions, Inc., and John Lenic, producer/production manager.
The Sci Fi Channel and MGM Television Entertainment have extended MGM's "Stargate" brand with the new “Atlantis” series. Production began in the spring on 20 one-hour episodes of “Stargate Atlantis,” a weekly series based on the popular "Stargate" franchise. While “Stargate SG-1”centers on the Stargate (an ancient portal that allows instantaneous travel across the galaxy,) “Stargate Atlantis” will take viewers on a brand-new adventure, with a whole new team. In the new series, a secret base left by the originators of the Stargate is discovered in the most unlikely of places — on Earth, buried among the ruins of the legendary city of Atlantis. The implications of this amazing discovery lead the Atlantis team to a distant galaxy where a primitive human civilization is threatened by a sinister new enemy.
