Lost Planet Editors Receive AICE NominationsHank Corwin And Paul Martinez nominated for several awards (April 27, 2005)
Lost Planet Editors Hank Corwin and Paul Martinez have been nominated for several Association of Independent Creative Editors (AICE) Awards.
Paul Martinez received three nominations for his work on spots for Altoids ?Hair, US Air Force ?Tornado and Target ?Bullseye. Hank Corwin was nominated for the American Express commercial featuring Robert DeNiro.
With his flair for visual storytelling and precise sense of rhythm, Editor Paul Martinez has contributed to award-winning feature and short films, documentaries, commercials and music videos. Martinez edited the short film Everything In This Country Must, which was directed by Gary McKendry and nominated for a 2005 Oscar for Best Live-Action Short Film. He also lent his talent to the Sony Dreams 2005 short Le Roi for director Baker Smith.
In the commercial realm, Martinez recently completed campaigns for Altoids, Adidas, Toyota, Fox Sports, Expedia, AT&T and American Express, as well as music videos for J. Lo and Avril Lavigne. His Toyota ?Girlfriend spot garnered a 2004 Cannes Gold Lion, and a previous Fox Sports Network campaign of his was honored by the British D+AD, Clios, Cannes, The One Show Awards and AICE.
A seasoned editor and sound designer, Hank Corwin brings a cornucopia of experience to his feature film work, as well as commercials and music videos.
Corwin's feature career commenced in 1990 when Oliver Stone commissioned him to create a title sequence for JFK. He stayed on as an additional editor and has since cut three of the director's subsequent works, Nixon, Natural Born Killers and U-Turn. Other film credits include The Horse Whisperer and Legend of Bagger Vance for Robert Redford, and Snow Falling on Cedars for Director Scott Hicks.
Corwin is currently on-set and editing the Terrence Malick-directed film New World. He has contributed to notable commercials for Hummer, Revlon, HP and Nike.
