Logicalis UK Announces Cisco Jabber? Support for ImmersiV Video-as-a-Service
(July 13, 2012)
13th July 2012, Slough; Logicalis UK Ltd today announced that its business grade Video-as-a-Service offering ImmersiV now provides immediate support for Cisco Jabber? client, connecting mobile tablet users to each other and to existing corporate business video systems including high-end Telepresence systems. The new Jabber client for Apple iPad? allows tablet users to connect to the Logicalis ImmersiV video Cloud platform. ImmersiV is a business grade video as a service offering, providing a range of business class video collaboration services including video call recording and multi-user virtual meeting rooms. ImmersiV can securely gateway services into customers? existing internal video conferencing endpoints, and now enables tablet users to securely connect to colleagues inside the company network.
With BYOD being one of the fastest growing demands placed on CIOs and IT departments, and with a recent survey by Techaisle (U.S. SMB iPad/Tablet Usage, Adoption and Trends 2011) showing that 65% of tablet users are at CEO or President level, the ability to connect the tablet device into high quality, secure and regulated business systems is becoming ever more critical.
?Company executives who are bringing their own device or who have been issued with a corporate tablet now have access to a killer executive productivity tool,? said Tom Kelly, Managing Director of Logicalis UK. ?The executive tablet can no longer be seen as a technology fashion accessory. More and more business grade services are now becoming tablet based, and with this announcement today, Logicalis is enabling BYOD and mobile users to make high quality video calls from their hotel room directly into the boardroom. An executive on business in Sao Paulo can now connect to colleagues in a meeting room in Southampton and other Apple iPad? users located in different parts of the world.
And because Logicalis ImmersiV includes regulatory must haves, such as on-demand video call-recording, we have dramatically increased the number of industries who can deploy mobile and BYOD video services to their growing constituent of tablet users. We are thrilled to be one of the first service providers in the world to support Cisco Jabber as part of our Cloud video as a service offering.?
Cisco Jabber for Apple iPad?, is a complete unified communications application, with the potential to provide users access presence, instant messaging (IM), voice, video, voice messaging, and conferencing services when fully integrated with corporate systems.
?We now have the three compelling executive business applications on the Apple iPad?; video, social collaboration and business analytics,? said Toby Gold, Director of Communications and Collaboration at Logicalis UK. ?Logicalis has always been at the forefront of extending and improving the communications and collaboration experience of our customers. Customers can now think about extending video to people, places and business processes that are enabled through mobile tablet technologies. This service combined with our Cisco WebEx Social and IBM mobile Cognos services also sends a clear message to business and IT departments; that mobility and BYOD adoption is going to accelerate even faster now business tools are in the hands of executives and users. It?s time to upgrade the wired and wireless networks and ensure that a mobility and BYOD strategy is in place; because every C-Class executive is now going to expect to be able to engage in high quality video conferencing wherever their Apple iPad? takes them.?
