LiveCLIQ Unveils Project Magellan -- A Living View of the World in Motion

(February 12, 2009)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/12/09 -- LiveCLIQ has unveiled Project Magellan, the first web service that enables people to contribute and discover live geo-tagged mobile video into a global real-time view of the events and experiences that shape our lives.

Project Magellan provides an innovative user experience that combines LiveCLIQ's auto-tagging and geo-location capabilities with Google Earth's plug-in and Javascript API accessible from any web browser. The service features a navigable 3-D view, scrollable timeline and location tag cloud with geo-located mobile video streams. As people zoom into a specific region the tag cloud changes to reflect the topics, events and videos relevant to that location.

Project Magellan automatically spins the globe and zooms to the location of an incoming live stream where the video is viewed. After watching a stream users can then use the location aware tag cloud to find and watch related streams from local contributors. LiveCLIQ also includes user filters and touring features in Project Magellan where you can trace the video journeys of friends travelling across the globe.

This exciting new service enables users to navigate and search global events and personal moments where and when they develop. Complementing image-based initiatives such as Google StreetView and Microsoft PhotoSynth, Project Magellan leverages the hundreds of millions of video enabled mobile phones to provide an organic and dynamic view of the world, everywhere in real-time.

Project Magellan is positioned to be the destination to experience the landmark events of our time. Increasingly, the most compelling news coverage is from ordinary people who are experiencing extraordinary events and are able to capture these crucial moments using their mobile phones.

LiveCLIQ's Project Magellan is a free service for registered members and is viewable in any web browser. LiveCLIQ's mobile clients are available for iPhone, Windows Mobile, Java, BlackBerry and Symbian mobile devices. Experience Project Magellan at www.livecliq.net/projectmagellan.
