Littlefield Joins Board of Company Developing Glasses-Free 3D TV

Dynamic Digital Depth Inc.'s Goal is to Make 3D a Reality in Everyday Life (August 02, 2001)
Former NBC Entertainment President Warren Littlefield has agreed to join the Board of Directors of Dynamic Digital Depth Inc. to advance the company's initiatives for 3D television without glasses.

Littlefield is a long-standing supporter of 3D who, as president of NBC Entertainment, engineered the ratings successes of the 3D version of "Third Rock from the Sun" and several other 3D projects for the network's "Must-see TV" lineup.

"When I first saw DDD's technologies, I knew I was seeing the future of television," said Littlefield. "From personal experience, I know there's a healthy consumer interest in 3D. This technology has the potential to transform the viewer's experience in the same way color transformed black-and-white."

DDD is deploying 3D screens for advertising, promotions, trade show and other public space entertainment applications. Littlefield will provide guidance for creating strategic partnerships for the licensing of DDD's technologies for network television broadcasting. His appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

"Warren's comprehensive knowledge of network television will be of great benefit to DDD," said Chris Yewdall, President and CEO of DDD. "His involvement supports our view that 3D television will soon be part of the entertainment landscape."

Littlefield is working with Paramount Television to develop and produce comedy and drama series for the Viacom-owned studio. Previously he had a 21-year association with NBC, including nine years as President of NBC Entertainment. He oversaw development and production of the network's prime time, late night and Saturday-morning entertainment programming, which won 168 Emmy Awards during his tenure at NBC.

DDD is transforming the visual experience by making 3D a reality in everyday life. Its patented 3D technologies enable the creation of 3D content; mass-market distribution; and 3D viewing on glasses-free displays.
