Lightworks Touch M.E. Streamlines Film Sound EditingMackie interface keeps sound editing on track for ?Good Shepherd? and ?Departed? (December 13, 2005)
Lightworks powerful Touch M.E. audio upgrade, introduced at NAB 2005, is streamlining sound editing on a number of film productions - including two major motion pictures currently shooting in New York: Scorceses ?The Departed and DeNiros ?The Good Shepherd.
In keeping with the editor-centric Lightworks philosophy, the powerful audio interface facilitates mix automation by means of a physical mixer the editor can touch and feel. ?The interface makes a significant difference when youre making your offline, says Tariq Anwar, editor on The Good Shepherd. ?Its great to be able to control the sound levels with such a tactile interface and when you play the material back, any subsequent playouts play back at the same levels youve mixed.
Touch M.E. provides cutting edge precision audio capabilities without a keyboard or mouse. The Mackie Control Universal Surface offers full control of nine independent motorized sliders and production time is drastically reduced through the ability to adjust 16 channels in real time. The swift, touch-sensitive, Touch M.E. memorizes the sound levels track-by-track on the fly, so that the mixer automations flying faders replay the cut exactly as it was recorded setting Lightworks well ahead of the competition.
Lightworks Touch M.E. is a field upgradeable option which includes the Control Surface, enabling software, interfacing control box and cables. It is compatible with both the Touch and new Alacrity MR editors.
