Lighthouse Technologies Debuts New LED Screens at InfoComm

PopVision and super-quiet screens shed new light on digital signage (June 03, 2005)

Lighthouse Technologies will be in the spotlight at this year's InfoComm International Exposition, with the debut of new LED video screens that break new ground in digital signage, entertainment and special events. More than 25,000 visitors are expected to attend InfoComm, which takes place June 8-10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Lighthouse will be exhibiting a wide range of the company's latest audiovisual display screen technology at Booth 7701 in InfoComm's Digital Signage Pavilion.

"InfoComm is the ideal backdrop for Lighthouse to showcase its breakthrough LED displays and in particular to launch our latest line of PopVision screens," said Lighthouse Managing Director Mark Chan. "Digital signage will be a major focus of this year's InfoComm show, and Lighthouse is a leader in addressing the new opportunities this market offers with innovative LED display technology."

Taking center stage at the InfoComm will be the introduction of the Lighthouse's new 6mm "PopVision" screen, the industry's first portable and self-sustaining LED screen that gives users a piece of "Times Square in a box." Ideal for entertainment, event, and marketing venues where mobility is a priority, the PopVision features Lighthouse's proprietary technology, enabling a high-resolution screen with better quality images at an affordable price. Designed for aesthetic integration, PopVision offers brightness level up to 3000 nits - unmatched by LCD, plasma and projection systems - making it an ideal choice for any new or existing digital signage network. PopVision can also be used in outdoor applications and be seen in direct sunlight as long as weatherproof housing considerations are met.

Both the new PopVision screen and the 6mm R6 panels are based on Lighthouse's proprietary M4 uniformity control technology, resulting in high definition images and extra processing power. The PopVision and the R6 panels deliver extra crystal clear images in very low brightness, producing strikingly high resolution to captivate audiences for spectacular close viewing capabilities.

Lighthouse will also be featuring two new fanless 10mm pixel pitch indoor LED video screens, the P10 and R10, the lightest fully integrated LED with a built in power supply. Almost noise-less and featuring Lighthouse's M-4 proven pixel uniformity technology, the P10 and R10 are created for environments where noise levels need to be kept to an absolute minimum. The fanless design of both models provides an extremely quiet screen suitable for a variety of applications, from the lobby of a corporate business, to acoustic concerts and conferences, to studios and broadcast events - anywhere that low background noise is essential.

Designed for permanent installations, the P10 is lightweight for ease of installation. Each panel weighs only 9.6kg, making it is possible for a technician to install the screen single-handedly. The R10 rental product is also lightweight and features a fast rig single kingpin design for quick set-up and strip down of the screen. With cost effectiveness always in mind, the R10 is compatible with all existing LVP1010D accessories.

As the official sponsor of the Digital Signage Pavilion at InfoComm, Lighthouse will be showcasing the industry's first outdoor/indoor SMD LED screen. The R10, a 10mm pixel pitch panel with brightness of over 5000 nits will be lighting up the Registration area to welcome industry professionals from around the world.

The Lighthouse family of indoor, outdoor and in-outdoor high resolution video screens is rapidly becoming increasingly popular for fixed installations and rental applications. The company has seen their products used in a number of high visibility LED screen installations, including ClearChannel's NYC subway portal digital signage network, various locations in London's Piccadilly Circus, San Diego Padres PETCO Park, on the set of the Queen's We Will Rock You show in Las Vegas and hundreds of concert and large scale events.

Joining Lighthouse at InfoComm will be a number of business partners who work with Lighthouse to meet the needs of a wide range of customers, including advertisers, event organizers, stadium managers and building contractors and architects.
