Las Vegas Casino Design Firm Switches to Autodesk Architectural Desktop

Marnell Corrao Associates Selects Autodesk Architectural Desktop to Power All New Design Projects (November 29, 2001)
Autodesk, Inc., a leader in design and digital media creation, management, and distribution, announced that Marnell Corrao Associates (MCA), designers and/or builders of the Bellagio Hotel, New York-New York, and Rio Suite Hotel Casino, is deploying Autodesk Architectural Desktop to streamline the modeling and design development processes for all new projects.

MCA selected Autodesk Architectural Desktop for its model-based design technology, which offers architects the flexibility to work in 3D or 2D as a design evolves, while accommodating traditional work processes and web-based collaboration. Another key factor in MCA's decision was Autodesk Architectural Desktop's ability to integrate with the TRIRIGA Intelligent Business System (IBS) solution, which MCA uses to automate, track, and manage design and development initiatives.

"The next generation of design solutions will enable organizations to control projects from the object level and leverage this intelligence for the duration of a project, while maintaining a real-time database for continuous improvement," explained Tony Marnell, Chairman of MCA. "Autodesk's model-based intelligence technology provides the critical first step in the design process and allows information to seamlessly feed other third-party solutions, such as TRIRIGA IBS, to manage other life-cycle processes."

Autodesk Architectural Desktop uses intelligent architectural objects to create a single, real-world building model in which all information is dynamically linked, allowing automatic updates that reflect design changes. This model-based design intelligence can be extended throughout a project's life cycle, ensuring accuracy and reducing cycle time. MCA will use Autodesk Architectural Desktop to create interrelated 2D and 3D designs, and link them to the TRIRIGA IBS system to drive all subsequent phases of design development.

"Model-based design gives our customers a competitive edge by providing them with the tools to be more efficient and accurate throughout the design process," said Phil Bernstein, FAIA, vice president of Autodesk's Building Industry Division.

MCA is a preeminent design and build organization that, in conjunction with its affiliated architecture firm, Anthony A. Marnell II Chtd., has designed and/or built numerous world-class properties in Las Vegas and throughout the country, including the Bellagio Hotel, New York-New York, Rio Suite Hotel & Casino, Borgata Resort, Treasure Island, Mirage Hotel, and Caesars Palace Forum Shops.
