It will be available this month for $1,199.

Also announced is a new 500 GB Big Disk utilizing 7,200 RPM mechanisms with an 8 MB buffer. It offers sustained transfer rates of up to 88 MB per second and sports two FireWire 800 ports and one FireWire 400 port. It's expected to be available in early February for $599.

Both the Bigger Disk and the Big Disk support Mac OS X and Windows and include all cables, power supply and LaCie Utilities. For more information, visit
