SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/01/12 -- LOYAL3, inventor of the Customer Stock Ownership Plan (CSOP) which enables public companies to sell their stock directly to customers from their website or Facebook page, announced today that Peter Coleman has been hired as Chief Financial Officer. He will oversee corporate finance, accounting and compliance functions, and will report to LOYAL3 Chief Executive Officer, Barry Schneider.
"Peter's demonstrated success in the securities and financial services industry, coupled with his experience and knowledge of technology, make him the perfect candidate for our CFO position," said Barry Schneider, CEO. "We are elated to have Peter step into this very important role on our management team."
"LOYAL3 is one of the most innovative companies I've seen in a very long time," said Peter Coleman, "I feel extremely excited and honored to be able to work closely with the team during the next phase of LOYAL3's growth."
Bringing over 20 years of financial and investment banking industry experience to LOYAL3, Coleman most recently served as CEO of Merriman Capital and CFO of its holding company. Previously, Coleman was CFO, COO and a member of the Board of Directors at ThinkEquity (formerly ThinkPanmure), a company providing institutional brokerage, investment banking, and asset management services. Prior to that, he was a senior research analyst covering the software industry at Schwab Soundview and Bank of America Montgomery Securities.
Coleman holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of San Diego.
LOYAL3 offers a web and social media platform that enables companies to sell their stock directly to customers in a way that is easy and affordable for everyday Americans. It's called a Customer Stock Ownership Plan, or CSOP ("see-sop"). The CSOP is designed to provide an easy and convenient way for companies to make public offerings of their stock directly from the company's website or Facebook page with no fees.
Companies engaged in an Initial Public Offering or IPO, which makes their stock publicly available for the first time, may also use LOYAL3's platform for the offering of an IPO CSOP, also known as a "Social IPO." And companies making a follow-on public offering may use it to offer a Follow-On CSOP. Both the IPO CSOP and Follow-On CSOP are offered alongside a traditional underwritten public offering.
Customer-owners spend more, refer more and stay customers longer than ordinary customers. As a result, client companies are motivated to convert customers to shareholders to increase loyalty, branding and liquidity.
