(June 18, 2012)

LAGUNA BEACH, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/18/12 -- As part of its expanding corner on the world of action sports design education, Laguna College Art + Design (LCAD), a premier four-year art and design college, is teaming up with Surfing America to bring influential design alumni and action sport influencers, including Surfing Hall of Fame member Pat O'Connell of Hurley, together to talk about how to "Do what you love for life." The panel will be held at the Krikorian Theater, San Clemente, on Tuesday, June 19, at 7:00 P.M. during the Surfing America USA Championships.

In addition to discussing education and careers in action sports, the designers and artists behind the leading surf and skate brands will also provide a rare behind-the-scenes look into the making of today's hottest action sports products. Brands represented include Vans, Hurley, and others. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask their questions directly to the panelists in a live Q&A session.

The event will be held in conjunction with a screening of Surfer Magazine's movie Hot 100 and Billabong's film Code Red.
