Kroma Telecom Equips Three OB Vans

Spanish broadcast equipment manufacturer signs three contracts. (June 08, 2004)

Kroma Telecom (Broadcast Asia Stand: 2D3-1), the Spanish broadcast equipment manufacturer, is furnishing three new OB Vans during the following weeks. Their monitors (CRT and TFT), UMDs and Intercom systems have been chosen for customers such as Telemadrid, Canalsur and Eumovil, the OB Van division of Mediapro group. Realiability and affordability have been the most valued features of these tenders.

For the Madrid-based pubcaster, Kroma is supplying a digital talkback, apart from monitors and displays. One of the main goals of this system is to facilitate the communications between the users (panels and beltpacks) and external telephone lines (PSTN, GSM, ISDN...). It also allows the storage of up to eight configuration maps, which can be easily called depending on the broadcast format (sporting events, TV series?). Standarised CAT5 wiring and RJ45 connectors are also used.

Eumovil has once again awarded Kroma Telecom with a significant acquisition of BM6010, their brand new 10-inch CRT monitor. Specially designed to provide the best quality for adjusted budgets, it comes with analogue, digital and component video inputs, automatic colour calibration, remote, double tally, external synchro input on the front panel and audio de-embedder. This Outside Broadcast Vehicle is also using the new UMD controller & tally matrix of Kroma Telecom, which may work with routers and mixers simultaneously.

Finally the Seville-based TV network has chosen Kroma┤s TFT monitors, impressed by the picture quality of their new 9-inch one. It has been a meaningful choice as this is a moment of transition between the tube and the flat screen for many technical staff and also CFOs. Apart from the well-known advantages of these monitors (less space, weight & consumption), Kroma┤s ones offer a resolution and CRT-colour matching capabilities that reach highest broadcast standards. This model, LM5009, has no equivalent in the market: 170║ viewing angle, XGA resolution (1024x768 pixels), 400:1 contrast, 50,000 hours of lamplife and just 10ms of delay -plus multiple I/Os for analogue, digital, computer, remote or embedded audio signals.

KROMA TELECOM, with 25 years of experience in the broadcast realm, is the Spanish leading company in the design and manufacturing of broadcast solutions.
