Kona SD Bridges DV to SDIVersion 2.0 drivers also get 64-bit codec, After Effects preview
Kona SD 2.0 now converts DV input into uncompressed SDI output in real time. It Dv through the FireWire port and outputs to SDI instantly without the need for an SDI converter. Other new features include:
- A new 64-bit codec for processing 16 bits per channel in applications like Adobe After Effects.
- After Effects preview.
- Native YUV rendering.
- A new "Kona JPEG" for online JPEG capture and playback.
The Kona SD is AJA's first foray into the Macintosh video market and has supported Mac OS X from day 1. It's an uncompressed 10-bit PCI capture and playback card for editing and broadcast design. And it includes six channels of 48/96 kHz AES/EBU audio. It sells for $3,295.
