Kodak Names Ingram Micro As Distributor Of Document ScannersAuthorized distributor of workgroup, departmental and entry-level production document scanners (August 25, 2005)
Eastman Kodak Companys document imaging business today announced that Ingram Micro Inc., a global leader in technology sales, marketing and logistics, has become an authorized distributor of Kodaks portfolio of workgroup, departmental and entry-level production document scanners in the United States.
Companies, government agencies, and organizations of all sizes are increasingly utilizing affordable, efficient, and easy-to-use desktop scanners to help them digitize their paper to improve their business processes. To capitalize on this opportunity, Kodak has launched new products and strengthened its channel for selling them.
?We feel that Ingram Micros established reach within the small and medium business segment, as well as within the government space, is a good fit for this class of Kodaks document imaging products, said George W. ?Bill Gates, Kodaks general manager and vice president of sales for the U.S. and Canada Region. ?This partnership represents the next phase in Kodaks growing presence in the lower-volume scanner market and our continuing commitment to helping businesses better capture, manage, archive, and deliver critical business information.
In addition to launching more than a dozen new scanners in this space during the past five years, Kodak is now adding a distributor that has been successful in reaching resellers that target a broader end-user base and vertical markets.
Ingram Micro will sell Kodaks workgroup, departmental, and entry-level production document scanners -- all of which contain many of the same robust features of Kodaks market-leading mid- and high-volume production scanners. The scanner portfolio Ingram Micro will sell ranges from the KODAK i30 Scanner through the KODAK i280 Scanner. This includes the KODAK i100 Series Scanners, which were rolled out in January, and the KODAK i55 and i65 Scanners, which were launched in May and begin shipping this month.
?Offering Kodak document imaging products provides our VAR partners with additional name-brand options when creating and closing end-user deals, said Kevin Prewett, senior director, peripherals, Ingram Micro U.S. ?As the SMB market continues to adopt and rely on technology to drive core business functions, its important that we deliver quality products like Kodaks imaging solutions.
